In my twenties, my life took a devastating turn.
Crippling digestive disorders, chronic back and pelvic pain, and relentless insomnia stole my energy and joy.
Depression set in, and every day felt like survival.
For two decades, I searched for answers — seeing top specialists, trying every treatment, chasing temporary relief — but nothing worked.
I felt trapped in a body that was breaking down and a mind that couldn’t rest.
Desperate for escape, I numbed the pain with alcohol and distractions.
It was the only way I knew how to quiet the noise — until I realized it was taking me further from the life I wanted.
The Conversation That Changed Everything
One day, while visiting my local surf shop, I mentioned my back pain to the owner, Tony.
He said something that stopped me in my tracks:
“I finally cured mine.”
When I asked how, he told me about Paul Chek — a pioneer in holistic health who taught that true healing integrates the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of life.
I went home, researched the CHEK approach, and for the first time in years, something made sense.

Now, in my 50s, I’m surfing, snowboarding, and performing better than I ever did in my 20s.
I wake up with purpose, train without pain, and live with gratitude for the lessons my struggle taught me.
